    DINING

Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary international breakfast each morning.

Friedrichs - The restaurant serves sophisticated regional cuisine in a formal atmosphere. Chandeliers, light green patterned wallpaper, wooden paneling, and private booths offer the opportunity for a discrete and relaxed lunch or dinner. A big glass window to the kitchen area allows guests to observe the preparation of some of the dishes. During summertime the restaurant and the Lobby expand their service to the terrace on Friedrichstrasse.

Stammhaus - Stammhaus is a typical Berlin pub with an intimate atmosphere. Dark-wood furniture and paneling and green and dark red leather seats create an historic marine style. The local delicacy, Eisbein mit Sauerkraut (beef with sauerkraut), is served, as well as other Berlin specialties and German beer. Open for lunch and dinner.

Lobby Lounge & Bar - The hotel lobby is dominated by the atrium and the grand stairs. Italian marble columns and floors, chandeliers, original banisters, and the ornamental blue and rose glass dome recall the 19th-century Imperial shopping arcades of the original building. The dark-wood Lobby Bar serves coffee, drinks, and snacks until the last guest leaves. The relaxed atmosphere attracts businesspeople, families, and tourists, as well as locals listening to the live piano music in the evening.

Coelln - This friendly restaurant offers a breakfast buffet to guests and members of the public. A wide selection of international dishes is available.

    AMENITIES & SERVICES

What to expect: Built in 1987, the lobby's open atrium, Italian-marble columns, chandeliers, glass dome, and grand stairs recall the original use of the building, as the Imperial shopping arcades of the 19th century. Families with children are welcome and special services can be arranged.

Amenity highlights: The Beauty Spa offers a wide selection of treatments, including seaweed wraps and massages. The hidden garden on a first-floor roof of the hotel is an oasis of peace and quiet. The business facilities include reception rooms of different sizes, event catering, and secretarial services.

Insider tip: The hotel offers views of the Brandenburg Gate from many of the guestrooms. The symbol of unified Germany, the Brandenburg Gate is a popular celebration spot on New Year's Eve, with thousands of tourists and locals flocking to watch the fireworks. Rooms with balconies on the north side of the hotel provide rather exclusive vantage points for the New Year's celebrations.

The hotel's health club has an indoor pool with resting area, a sauna, jetted tub, solarium, and a gym with trainer. Cosmetic and body treatments, from seaweed wraps to anti-cellulite treatments and massages, can be booked at the Beauty Farm.

The hidden garden on a first-floor roof of the hotel is an oasis of tranquility, with a dragon pavilion, fountain, and seating area. A barbecue takes place here on Sundays in summer.

The hotel's conference rooms include a multi-purpose salon on the first floor, which holds up to 200 people. One of the more unusual of the other conference rooms is the Salon Diana, with antlers hanging on the wall, a fireplace, and an historic organ with bird and oak details from Dresden. Receptions can also be held in the adjacent Wintergarden. There are also two small meeting rooms (for up to 12 people). The hotel also offers secretarial services and catering for business conferences.
